Architectural Drawing and Illustration Services using SketchUp
How can SketchUp help in architecture?
SketchUp makes design exploration and the creation and communication of your ideas in 3D very easy. Many say that a 3D architectural model drawn with Google SketchUp is the computerized equivalent of the hand-sketched designs that architects are still quite fond of. SketchUp does a lot more because it offers the accuracy of detail typical of CAD programs, without taking the kind of time that a CAD program requires to provide a final output. It's also a lot cheaper.
You can use these drawings for a variety of purposes, including:
- Marketing, Presentations, Consultations
- Conceptualizing
- Problem-solving
What are some specific uses of SketchUp in architecture?
That's a really long list. SketchUp quickly creates 3D drawings of houses, neighborhoods and even layouts for urban planning by generating a variety of designs. Use SketchUp to:
- Create rough massing drawings, and use the printout to sketch over a detailed 3D model of exteriors and interiors
- View drawings, floor plans, softscapes, and hardscapes, as well as interiors including furniture and furnishings
- Create a final plan artwork
- Create detailed 'as-built' drawings for remodeling, problem solving or consultation
- Create detailed impressions of exterior and interior lighting (including accent lighting). This is made possible by the 'push-pull' tool which adds shadows that automatically move with the changing position and intensity of the source of illumination.
- Create detailed drawings of pools, drainage and irrigation architecture
- Create softscapes and hardscapes of gardens and parks
- Create detailed drawings of streets, flyovers, overpasses, sewerage, etc.
