Google SketchUp is a very simple to use software package that lets you design and view 3D models. You can model something as simple as a 4 legged table all the way to more complex buildings and architectural views. While SketchUp is a general purpose tool its primarily geared towards creating architectural models.
This tutorial is for those people who are new to 3D modeling, but are interested in creating architectural drawings, either to communicate their ideas to someone, or just so you can build your dream house or that castle in the sky!
Open up SketchUp and you should see a screen similar to the one shown below. Click on the tutorials Part One, Two or Three, and follow the simple instructions to get quickly started to creating your own house, with a patio, sloping roof, and attached garage.
